Gibson Guitars

High end Gibson guitars have “Powerhead Tuners” which automatically tune the strings of the guitar. They can tune them to the standard E, B, G, D, A, and E but there are also 6 other presets that can be switched to and customized. This allows a guitar to be tuned to specific tones and minor keys quickly and accurately. It can happen in between a song with the twirl of a knob.

At first glance these robotic Gibson guitars don’t look any different from a regular guitar. Closer inspection reveals that behind the pegs there are little electric engines that can drive the pegs. There is also a digital sensor in there that detects the pitch directly through the string so there is no chance for distortion.

The only other difference between robot Gibson guitars and other Gibson guitars is that one knob has multiple uses. When depressed it controls the volume but when popped up it can cycle through different tuning for the strings. It indicates what setting it is on as well as when it is out of tune and tuning with an LED light. Other than these features it is a high quality Gibson instrument.
